Hotel and Stay
How do I book my room?
You can email our representative, Marta, at Senhora da Rosa directly. You should have received an email from us with details.
Can I stay at the Senhora da Rosa hotel before and/or after the wedding?
Yes, subject to availability on a first come, first served basis. We have placed you each in specific rooms, which means you may need to relocate relative to your stay for the three nights for the event.
Can I check into the hotel early/check out late?
Yes, subject to availability (like any normal hotel experience). Luggage can also be stored at the hotel, as needed, upon request.
How do I get to the hotel?
Taxis can be booked in advance for airport pickup. Rental cars can be booked in advance and picked up directly at the airport.
What are some of the hotel amenities?
Outdoor swimming pool, pineapple house soaking tub (did we mention there’s a pineapple house soaking tub!?!?), and spa with a relaxation area, chaise lounges, sauna, and Turkish bath. The spa also has bookable massages and services.
The hotel also has a bar on premise, as well as a restaurant (see more below).
Flights and Travel
What is the best flight to take?

We’ve seen instances of separate flight bookings (as opposed to round trip) being more viable options for some folks (e.g., a one way flight from NYC to Ponta Delgada through Lisbon and a one way flight directly back to NYC).
Should I rent a car?
There are a lot of beautiful things to see on the island! If you plan to explore, we recommend renting a car - you can even coordinate with other guests if you’re feeling social!
If you do not plan on leaving the hotel area or prefer to get around by taxi, that is also an option! There are taxis at the airport and ones that can be called by the hotel.
How do I rent a car?
There are a number of rental companies on the island, including at the airport.
The hotel also has some rental car connections; feel free to message our contact, Marta, who has been assisting with the room bookings.
When renting, we recommend getting the additional insurance - many of these rental companies make their money from very strict policies about scratches; to avoid dealing with unexpected fees we recommend paying for the full coverage through the company itself.
Is there parking available at the hotel?

Events
What is the wedding attire?
We're aiming for formal but encourage you to wear whatever you feel festive in! (Bear in mind the weather will likely be mild and in the 60ºF range).
Will the events be indoors or outdoors?
Weather permitting the majority of events on the wedding day will be outdoors.
What meals will be covered during the weekend?
There will be a full buffet breakfast (trust us, it’s incredible) on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday (and other days if you extend your trip before or after at the hotel).
There will also be a dinner on Friday (wine and beer provided) and the wedding dinner on Saturday (wine, beer, and cocktails provided).
What is the dinner plan for Sunday (4/26)?
We do not have a dinner planned for the group on Sunday as we wanted to allow people the opportunity to explore more of what the island has to offer, should they choose. The hotel has a restaurant, Magma, on premise that guests can eat at on their own dime. Any interested guests should make a reservation in advance (no later than 11am Sunday).
What is the dress code for the other days?
Friday: Dinner party attire - something you would wear to a nice restaurant or a night out.
Sunday: We recommend bringing a bathing suit, whether you are staying at the hotel or going on an excursion. There are fun hot springs and hikes. If you prefer hiking, try to bring the right footwear!
